Diversity in Sarawak
With a variety of ethnic groups and
at least
40 sub-ethnic
groups,
each with its own distinct language,
culture and lifestyle,
Sarawak is not only tolerant
of diversity, but embraces it.
In 2017,
approximately
96%of newly
recruited
employees were
from Sarawak.
We provide each employee with training
and career development opportunities.
In 2017, a total of
2,571 out
of 2,664
employees attended
training sessions,
including teambuilding sessions.
As such, the Group is committed to creating
a holistic working environment that inspires
camaraderie, trust, excellence, initiative
and professionalism. Our employee-based
initiatives have been founded on our goal to
provide fair treatment to all our employees
while
achieving
equilibrium
between
performance, pay and participation. Our
progress in the area of employee development
is evident in the Group’s relatively low turnover
rate (as per the following table) in the last three
years.
